Matibay sya, promise.
This pair was given to me by my Brazilian friend Rafa last June 2007. Nagulat ako kasi mahal nga, pero sabi nya sa akin, "in Brazil, Big Macs are more expensive than Havaianas" - hehe. He was really surprised when he found out that these slippers were high end here in the Philippines.
Magkano ba to dito? 800 pesos right?
Well, this morning, I was just amazed at its "survival" -- because they still pretty much look the same ! Di pa pudpod, and the design is still intact. You can easily also brush the dirt out. Pinanglalabas ko pa ito.
Compare with my Bananapeel (P120.00, June 07 for outdoor use) , Toeberries (P95.00, Dec 07, indoor use)
My Bananapeels are dead. Dirt sticks to them and the rubber absorbs like crazy. Butas na din ang swelas nung January. Si Toeberries naman, indoor use only, pero, manipis na din ang swelas plus kutkot na kutkot na ang design.
Havaianas are good for outdoor walking, makapal yung swelas nya (makapal sa ground but not on your feet, they are surprisingly comfy) And yun nga, matibay. So mine's more than a year old already.
Well, yun lang. I guess I'm just justifying why other people seem to like buying these outrageously expensive chinelas, di lang fashionable, praktikal pa :-) Hehe. Pero di pa din yata ako bibili ;-)
